DCI was contracted with the City County Administration Building Inc. in the fall of 2009 to renovate approximately 6700 sq.ft. of the 2nd floor office space. The project involved demolishing most of the walls in the space. New walls were constructed of wood studs, sound insulation and painted gypsum wall board. Because this building is a historic building the wood trim and wood doors had to be specially constructed to maintain the historical value. This involved very intricate and detailed trim work, which consisted of 7 ½” high wood base, chair rail, picture rail, door and borrowed light casing, and cornice trim. All had to be assembled from seven unique pieces to maintain the historic integrity. The doors were seven feet high and five panel, solid core. A good portion of the floor was terrazzo and needed to be patched to match the existing. This project was a work of art.
