Airport Maintenance Facility Addition

This project was an addition and remodel to the existing maintenance facility which houses the snow removal and fire equipment for the Helena Regional Airport.  The existing building is concrete masonry unit construction.  The new added areas are primarily structural steel, with steel stud framing and metal siding with interior metal liner panels at the maintenance bays.  Site utilities for this project included sewer, fire line, electric and gas line work.  Initially the owner was to occupy this building for the majority of construction.  It was decided after the initial start of the project that the maintenance crews would relocate for the remainder of the project.  The snow plows remained in this facility throughout the construction and heat was maintained for ease of equipment start-up in inclement weather.
