This historic restoration project involved the removal, remediation, re-structure and re-installation of historic granite stairs at the State’s Capitol. Time was a significant issue with weather as well as accommodating the client’s need for public access to the building. The structure, on which the stairs were originally maintained, was removed and a new structure was created in its place. This work required suspended slab concrete pours. The granite stair slabs were removed, refurbished and then installed in the newly finished concrete structure. This project lead into some interior historical remodeling at the building’s interior as well. Painting of historic moldings with extensive detailing was a portion of this project, also.
